Visited a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre today and met this little Porcupine, probably about 1 year old. Wildlife can be greatly affected when an area such as ours in Southern Ontario experiences colder winters than we have in the past. We've been experiencing extreme cold this year (as we did last year), and much of the wildlife has trouble adapting. This fella was basically like a block of ice when he was rescued 11 days ago. When I met him today, I was informed that his appetite has improved tremendously. He is, however, experiencing some neurological problems and has problems walking and remaining on his feet without falling over. Hopefully, this will improve as his care continues.
