Spring is definately in the air!
Such Rude Treatment
I had recently joined a new group here where I could submit pictures of my craftworks. I submitted 4 items, all in stained glass work, which was permitted under the rules. Well, two were accepted, and two were denied. Naturally curious, I sent a polite note requesting the reason so that I would have this knowledge for future reference.
The response I got was EXTREMELY RUDE! I couldn't believe it. Instead of just giving me a quick explanation, the administrator of the group decided to give me hell for not following the proper procedure to request why it was denied. Instead of writing a note I was apparently supposed to write a comment under the picture. Oops. An honest mistake and to my way of thinking, one which did not warrant such a response. Obviously a capital offence in this group.
I prefer to give her the benefit of the doubt . . . perhaps she was having a frustrating day/moment. Either way I certainly feel that I deserve to be treated with respect and with politeness: the way I like to treat others.
In her reply to my response she stated that she wasn't being rude, she was just being blunt. In this case, blunt was rude.
So, unfortunately, I have withdrawn from the group and blocked this gal from contacting me.
In all my 30 years as a Correctional Office (Prison guard), I have dealt with the worst individuals that our society produces. I have found from day one that respect and politeness goes an awful long way when communicating with another individual even an individual who is screaming hateful and threatening things at me.
It just makes me so sad that I had to take these steps with the administrator of this group.
On the positive side, the groups and people on this site that I do have contact with are absolutely wonderful and I thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your time, your encouragement, and your support. This site is an escape for me from the hostile and negative environment that I work in. My photography, love of animals, and the various crafts I enjoy doing have all provided me with a welcome diversion from work, and I have found many like-minded people on this site that enjoy doing the things I do, and that I can call friends.
THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!
