AFRICA HERE I COME!!!!
Okay. Instead of snowing, it's raining. Does that mean it's spring now? lol
It's been a loooooooong winter. But, for me, there's always been something fantastic on the horizon to look forward to.
In June, I'm finally taking the trip of my lifetime. It's been on the top of my Bucket List for decades, and I never ever thought it possible.
I'm taking a fantastic AFRICAN SAFARI.!!! I am soooooo excited!
It'll all start in Toronto, Ontario where I board a flight to Washington, DC, then pick up my flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. From there a flight to Maun, a raw and remote town, the capital of Ngamiland. There I'll meet my safari group, a very small group of 7 others. And our expedition begins. Our time will be spent in Botswana, South Africa and finish off in Zambia at the Victoria Falls by the city of Livingstone. All of our camps are extremely isolated, and are actual "camps". No hotels or lodges, electricity or internet access. It's back to the basics, but comfortably. The majority of our time will be spent exploring around the Okavavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world which offers a very wide array of wildlife. It has always been my dream to see one of this world's greatest and most elegant of predators in the wild. The big cats: lions, cheetahs and leopards.
The biggest challenge of this entire trip?? I'M ONLY ALLOWED LUGGAGE WEIGHING IN AT A MEASLY 44 POUNDS!!! This is due to the fact that we'll be moving between camps using light planes. (Cessna)
Our safari will end at the Victoria Falls. I have decided to stay an extra day in Livngstone. While checking out the city on the internet, I discovered that they have a conservation outfit in place which allows visitors to get up close and personal with lions, actually going on a "Walk with the Lions". To be able to touch one and observe their behaviour first-hand promises to be an amazing experience. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
So, I have the next 2 and a half months to figure out what to take so that my luggage only weighs in at 44 lbs. LOL Camera equipment is the priority of course so I'm working around that!!!!
One of my greatest dreams is about to be realized.
My wish for all of you, my friends and followers, is that you too are able to realize your dreams, no matter how long it takes.
TAKE CARE EVERYONE!!!!!!
